Captiflow - Terms and Privacy

1. Overview of the Service

Captiflow is a browser-based AI captioning tool designed for creators. It converts spoken words in your videos into on-screen captions using automatic speech recognition (ASR) and language models.

• Video privacy: The full video file never leaves your device.
• Audio processing: Only the extracted audio is securely transmitted to our cloud-based AI engine for transcription.
• Account access: Login (via Google or other providers) is required solely for credit tracking and usage management - not for data mining or marketing.
• Free usage: Users receive 100 seconds of free captioning per month. Additional captioning time can be purchased as “credits” from £0.01 per second.

2. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Captiflow only for lawful, responsible, and creative purposes. You must not use the Service to:

• Generate, share, or promote illegal, pornographic, violent, hateful, or discriminatory content.
• Violate any laws, copyrights, or intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or misuse the Service or any AI technology used within it.
• Circumvent credit or usage limits through unauthorized methods.

Captiflow reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

3. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, user interface design, and AI workflow architecture are the intellectual property of Captiflow and its creators. Copying, reselling, or reproducing our technology, interface design, or workflow for competing purposes is strictly prohibited.

You retain ownership of any videos, audio, or captions you create through Captiflow. By using the Service, you grant us a limited right to process your audio data solely for generating captions - no other use is made of your content.

4. Data Handling and Privacy

• Your video file remains on your local machine.
• Only the extracted audio is sent securely to our captioning engine for processing.
• Processed data is discarded from our servers once transcription is complete.
• We do not store, share, or sell your data to third parties.

5. Credits and Payments

• Each user receives 100 free captioning seconds per month.
• Paid credits are sold in bundles (starting at 500 seconds).
• Credits are tied to your account and are non-transferable.
• Refunds are available only if a technical issue prevents caption generation and cannot be resolved within 7 days.
• Misuse or fraudulent activity may result in forfeiture of credits.

6. Disclaimers

Captiflow uses advanced AI systems to generate captions. While we strive for high accuracy, we cannot guarantee perfection. Captions may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. Captiflow is provided “as is” and “as available.” Users are responsible for reviewing captions before publishing.

7. Limitation of Liability

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Data loss, content deletion, or downtime
• Misuse or misrepresentation of generated content

Captiflow and its creators are not liable for these damages to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• Abuse free credit systems
• Attempt to exploit or harm the Service or other users

9. Intellectual Property Protection

The Captiflow name, logo, and design are protected trademarks. Unauthorized use is prohibited. The underlying captioning workflow is proprietary and must not be copied, cloned, or redistributed.

10. Changes to Terms

Captiflow may update these Terms occasionally. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
